Please read this...
Oh.My.

You would not believe what I just did. You do not know how bad I feel about it. You don't want to know what it is either. But I'll tell you because it's important. I just went from having 44 people on my friends list to now, where I only have 13.

I could go on and on apologizing forever to all you who got taken off, but first I should tell you just why I did this.
Here are a few reasons;

  • I have been spending way to much time to livejournal. It takes hours out of my day where I could be doing other things. There's this saying that goes something like this, "Sometimes the good is the enemy of the best". In other words, we can be so caught up in what's good that we don't strive for the best. I want to strive for the best.
  • What is the "best"? I want to devote so much more time to God and my family. These are big growing years for me, and I do not want to look back and regret all the time I spent on livejournal pursuing shallow relationships with girls I probably will never really get to know in this lifetime. (Understand, I'm not saying you girls are shallow, I'm just saying that usually our relationships were pretty shallow.)
  • My family has been noticing how distracted I have been from our life at home. This has caused quite a few tense situations in our home which I would prefer to avoid.
  • In "real life" I wouldn't normally have 44 friends that I have deep and lasting friendships with.


One thing I want you all to know is that I have enjoyed getting to know all of you sooo much! You are all such dear Christian girls, and it was very hard for me to take each of you off! Really it was!
If any of you whom I have taken off would like to keep reading my journal (for what reason I can't imagine), please tell me! It won't hurt adding a few people back! ;)

P.P.P.P.S. To those of you who survived Chloe's Infamous Friends List Chop, and are still on my list, don't feel as if you have to read my journal entries. I kept most of you on because I didn't want to miss any of your entries. :)

Hey Chloe, don't feel bad about it!!! :D It is so good that you're doing what is right for YOU in this situation....you're not obligated to spend hours of your life reading about us. ;) LOL. I *quite* understand, and actually, am contemplating doing the same thing pretty soon. :) God bless ya!! :D

I'm still there. :-) Even when I almost cut you during my last "friends cut". LOL ;-) Yeah, you shouldn't believe me. ::naughty laugh::

And I know, I totally understand everything you wrote. I just took a bunch of people off my list and felt horrible, because I really did love reading their journals and really wanted to get to know them better... :P But I was neglecting areas of ministry that I felt the Lord has really called me to right now, and even if they're amazing people with a great heart for God, that doesn't mean their the one's He is calling me to invest my time in getting to know. Anyway, that's sounds weird the way I put it, but I can't think of a better way to word it. :P But I wanted you to know, I'm totally with you on that. :-)

I admire your decision! I think it's very understandable and mature.

(I'm excessively happy you kept me, though. :-D I will try to live up to your keeping me, i.e. not write posts about only hair and guys. ;-) Which is actually rather easy to do. =P)

Don't you stop posting about "only hair and guys". Your sappiness is one of the reasons I like your journal! ;-)

Hehe! You're so sweet to like my smooeyness! :-D And wow, I totally forgot about those Halloween pictures. I'm going to get out that camera and finish the roll off taking pictures of my car. :-)

My new hairdo might get a picture or two...but it turned rather grey. =P So next week it's possibly going to go red. Eeeek! I want my natural hair back. *sniff*

Dear C.,

I must be fair in admitting that, at this time (or what is a sad lack thereof), I cannot give you what you seek, but no more than what would be the "shallow relationship" you wisely avoid. I would have loved to know you, you and the remainder of an all-too tantalizing LJ world. ;) But in my present circumstance (what amount of time is allotted for Internet use, and what responsibilities crowd it out), I cannot provide you with decent feedback let alone build up a proper friendship; I would be a dead-weight to your Friends list, and a disappointment to you by saying nothing of this and thereby willingly allowing you to expect from me what I cannot give. :/

I do hope that what young women are privileged to have the opportunity of your friendship realize what in fact they have. ;) I, for one, will continue to pray for you as memory serves...you who has been a source of my encouragement, and a Christian example of what I myself should strive to become.

But you will stay, will you not? If you wish to take me off of your list, so be it. But as for me, I wish to keep you on board. ;) I do not ask for your time or friendship, but the reason you remain is that I am particularly inspired by your writing style! True, you haven't written for a while, but I would hope not to miss any one of you entries, which are each works of art!

I do not in any way ask that you keep up with my strange life, or feel obligated to be a part of it, but only that you will let me be in the crowd of onlookers to your thoughts, which have induced me to my own.
How does this suite you?

Dear C.,

I have enjoyed written accounts from your "strange life," and it is no obligation but a treat to be privy to them! I merely sought to inform you that, though I am usually successful in reading your entries regularly, I will not always have occasion to reply, &tc., which I (obviously mis)understood to be prerequisite to remaining on your Friends list. I am guilty of an honesty that, as it turns out, was not in fact necessary. ;)

It is an honor to have you in my readership, Chloe; though in that respect, I can only think you will be disappointed, when I fail miserably to live up to your estimation of "inspiration." ;)
