So Much For an Interesting Bio.
::Edit::Edit::Edit::
This mini biography is (kind-of) way out of date, but I am so bad at updating things. \:}
At the moment of this edit (August, 05), my family is preparing to be missionaries in Mozambique, Africa. See, things have changed. :)

We now return to our regularly scheduled program...

Hmmm...what to say about myself?

I know you've heard it a zillion times; "Hi. My name is Bob. I'm a plumber. I've been facinated with toilets since my brother flushed my sister down one when we were wee ones {no worries, I retrieved her}. In my spare time I really like to mow my grass. It makes me feel manly. That and burping. My dog's name is Spot. I know that name's a little crazy, but I just like unusual names that push me out of my comfort zone... blah-di-dlah..." Just skip over mine if you'd like. I won't blame you a single dust bunny. ::ahem:: Here goes...

My name is Chloe and I'm a 18 year old Christian home schooling girl...blah-di-blah-di-blah...I have a marvelous {and comical} family (1 brother and 2 sisters) and we live on 10 gorgeous {to an extreme} acres. Someday I may write a book about our family, something like Little Women, whom we mirror in may ways lovely, and sometime not so lovely. I've always wanted an older brother (or one that's around my age), but unfortunately, I'm the oldest of us kids, and I'm really not all that bossy. Seriously. ;| I tend to be melancholy/pensive, poetic, and I love beauty, but I can also be a real dimwit, to put it blandly (like you couldn't tell). ;|...blah-di-blah...Around people I don't know well, I'm normally the sweet, quiet and mysterious sort, with the Mona Lisa smile {or so I hallucinate.} But around those I know well, I can be very savage silly...la-di-dum...I love serving "behind the velvet curtain". That's where I flourish. If you were ever to see me somewhere, I would probably be cleaning up, or doing something for someone...la-di-da...::yawn and stretches:: I'm a helpless romantic, absolutely in love with my future husband...whoever he is! ::beams::

Jesus is my everything. I cannot express that enough. He leads me everywhere so gently and is my only Hiding Place, or my "habitation" as Psalm 91 has it. "My hope is to walk forever in the coolness of the shade." (Waterdeep) And that's what I live for, to be near God, intimate with Him, to bring glory to Him, and to worship Him!!!

My journal is primarily friends only. I know. That's so annoying, but at the moment I don't really have my heart set on juggling a larger friends list. :/ Ah, how I pity those of you who are not able to look upon my very insightful and even genius writings {/end major sarcasm}. ;) Actually, I do a *few* public announcements, but none of those are interesting, yet, hey, it's better then nothing. :]

One last thing, no boys allowed. :) No, I’m not a man-hater Feminoid. I’m simply attempting to guard my heart, thank you very much. :)

I guess that about sums things up then.

(Jesus is coming soon!!!)

Hey, wow I love your bio (its an swesome bio) and I like many of your intersts there! It really made me smile. I could point out so many things I like and can relate to in this entry; a lot of it are things I could go on n on about. It's so cool to come across a Christian girl who seems so dedicated.

It's way neat to come across Christians girls who are guarding their hearts, waiting for true love; I've not seen "courtship" in anyone's info till today. You'll see it in mine, also. :)

By the way, your name is my fave girl name. I've always wanted know someone named Chloe. I'd like it if you'd add me as a friend.

Hi! I was searching for something, can't remember what, on LJ and your name came up in a list of people interested in whatever it was. I was intrigued as I'm a Chloe too, yet we have such different lives. Not that this is bad thing, just intriguing. That said, we have similar taste in artists, I love John William Waterhouse. I hope you find the husband of your dreams someday.

Hi! I was reading another friend's journal entry, when I came across a comment from you and I wanted to read a little about you. The main thing that got my attention was your name: Chloe. That's the name of my cat! I named her after Chloe Steel Williams, from the Left Behind books. :)

I also noticed that you were born exactly two months before my daughter. WOW! :D

I wanted to add you to my friend's list, but thought I'd ask first. You can read my user info. It tells who I am. I live in Missouri, too...in Joplin.

Well, have a great day. :)

I just did a search on "hopechest" and your screen name came up! Are you a HC subscriber?? I am.
Also you sound so like me in many ways. My spiritual gift is serving as well, and I LOVE background work.
I also think it's so neat that you home church like that! We have in the recent past, but some major things came up so we had to leave. We are currently at a more traditional type church, which is just starting up but thing everyone's trying to set up is elders. Well, I have lots more I would like to say, but I have to run! Just thought I'd say hi and ask you about HC mainly.

Hello there, Marissa!
How sweet of you to comment.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I was a Hope Chest subscriber for quite a while, but about a year ago I unsubscribed for a few different reasons. :)

I'm afraid I'm replying at a rather late hour, so I must keep this short, but I thought I should tell you that, contrary to what my bio said (which I just tweaked a bit) I'm not at the moment adding friends my journal, and haven't been for a long while. (I know you didn't ask me to befriend you, but it's something I'm very tempted to do.) I'm not assing friends for a few reasons;

1. I hardly ever update my journal these days. Though I'd like to, I find I'm rather a perfectionist when it come to writing things fit for other eyes to read, so I normally don't have the energy or brainpower for a real good post (though my sister would say, "Pish Posh!" to that. :)

2. I don't like spending much time on the computer (well, I really do like to, but I know I shouldn't, and it's not best for me and the family) so I find it rather hard to keep up even with the few people that I have as friends in the present.

Of course, I hope you know, that I would *very much* like befriending you, but I'm afraid at the moment, I cannot. :/

May you be blessed in the Lord!
Chloe

PS. And how neat that you homechurched. I didn't know Christians did much of that in Canada. :)
PPS. May I ask how old you are?

That is fine! Don't feel you need to add me; I just wanted to comment. Hope you don't mind if I add you though.
Yes, everyone complains that I never update either. I don't like to write just to write- I like to write when I have something worthwhile to say! When I do write though, it's usually rather lengthy.
They probably do have some home-churches in Canada, but I couldn't tell you for sure. We've been going to church in MI since '96. :)
I am 15, and my birthday is March 26.
I re-read your new bio, and you sound even more like me. :) I think that's so neat! It was great meeting you.
God bless you~ Marissa

I also posted a comment to [info]reflected_light, but I haven't heard back from her. Just let her know that I hope things are going well for her. :o)

Oh Lizzie!
:hugs hugs hugs hugs!!!: How have you been doing Liz?
It's so funny that you should comment because I have been thinking of you a lot lately. I've really appreciated your posts--reading them makes me feel like I'm not completely detached from your life. :)
Oh, life has been...ah...very interesting. I'm been praying for the strength to...
...trust God with my future (tale as old as time, I know, but with Mozambique looming ahead, I'm still trying to get my will lined up with God's)
...be a blessing in this home
...not fall in love (considering that there is a very rare possibility that other people could stumble across this, I won't elaborate :])

It really feels like I'm in a whirlwind right now, trying to find my place, trying to understand so many very confusing things in my life, especially trying know the Lord more intimatly (I feel like I'm still at first base here). I know from past experience that I don't get very far trying, and that only the Lord can work these things. So, I've just been taking a lot of time to be still lately, and to just pray. Everything doesn't seem quite so twisted up when I pray.

Do you have any encouragment for me, Lizzie? I know you've been going through a LOT this year, and I'd appreciate any wisdom...

Please know that I love you soooo much
and miss you just as much
and please enjoy a warm internet hug from
Chloe <3

Wow, it sounds like you HAVE been going through a lot. I can imagine. And yes, I've certainly had my hard times this year as well. But really I'm doing pretty well right now and am very THANKFUL for that! Things were really hard and confusing and I didn't know where my life was going, but God has broken me a lot, and at this moment, I have peace. I'm not sure that I have any great encouragement for you off the top of my head, except to embrace the calling God has set before you now, whatever it is. Stop fighting and trying, and just learn to embrace it and appriciate it for what it is - God working for the good in your life. Learn to find joy in the moment and don't sit there questioning "AM I happy? AM I joyful?" - make a concious effort to rejoice and be thankful in every circumstance. Those are the things God has really been working on in me, this year.

Also, I'd really love to hear from you via email or snail mail, any time you have the time. And of course you are also welcome to call. No matter what, I do consider you a dear friend and I would hate to loose contact with you. I hope you and your family is doing well and pray that God will lead and guide you in all things. :)

*hugs*
I love you!
Lizzy
